COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS LIGHTS COMPETITION 2025

We are back again for our 3rd annual Christmas Lights Community Event Competition!!

The holiday season is fast approaching, and we are so excited to announce the return of our Annual Christmas Light Community Event Competition! This year, once again we are inviting both residential homes and commercial shops to enter the competition. Whether you’re lighting up your home or your business, we want to see your most dazzling displays! Let’s make the Douglas Shire shine bright and festive, not only for our community but also for the tourists who come to enjoy the holiday season with us.

Categories and Prizes:

  1. Best Christmas Light Display - Residential
    Prize: $500 for the brightest and most creative home display.
  2. Best Commercial Shop Front x 2 - Port Douglas
    Prize: We will purchase 2 x $100 voucher from the top 2 winning Port Douglas businesses and gift it to a community member to spend, supporting our local businesses this Christmas.
  3. Best Commercial Shop Front x 2 - Mossman
    Prize: We will also purchase 2 x $100 voucher from the top 2 winning Mossman businesses and give it to a community member to spend, spreading the holiday cheer and supporting our local businesses across Mossman & Port Douglas. 

How to Enter: 

  • Simply message us a video of your festive decorated home/shop front on Facebook. 
  • Include your name, contact number, email, and address.
  • We will post each entry on our Facebook page, and the winner of each category will be determined by the highest number of Facebook Likes.

The competition closes on Wednesday 17th December, and winners will be revealed on Friday 19th December 2025.

This is a wonderful way to bring the community together so whether you’re a local homeowner or a local business owner, we encourage you to get involved and show us your most festive side!
