Community Engagement – Raine & Horne Blackwood
For more than 30 years, Raine & Horne Blackwood has been proud to call the southern foothills home. Being long established in the area, we take great pride in supporting the local communities and the people who are part of them. Our commitment extends beyond property it includes small business support, sponsoring local sporting clubs, fundraising through charity auctions, and giving back to community initiatives that truly matter.
Over the years, our office has proudly supported organisations such as the Blackwood Bowls Club, Happy Valley Tennis Club, Happy Valley Football Club, the Prostate Cancer Foundation, The Variety Club, the Cancer Council of South Australia, the National GKR Tournament Team, the CEO Sleepout, Edwardstown Bowls Club, the Bloody Long Walk, and the Leukaemia Foundation. Whilst we wish we could support every worthwhile cause, we recognise the need to allocate our resources responsibly. At present, we are proudly sponsoring a select group of local clubs, events, and community programs where we can make the greatest impact.
Looking ahead, we are excited to be launching the Hills Local Community Sponsorship Program. This initiative is built on the principle of supporting our community one sale at a time with a portion of proceeds from every property sale going directly back into local clubs and charities across the hills. With so many groups and initiatives deserving of support, this program will provide an ongoing way for us to contribute meaningfully to the community that has supported us for more than three decades.

The Great Barrier Reef Foundation
Network Initiative
Raine Island is part of the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef. Our Network has donated and supported Raine Island over many years to help monitor the numbers of vulnerable green turtles and seabirds on the Great Barrier Reef, including Raine Island, one of the Reef’s most remote islands located 620 kilometres north-west of Cairns in Wuthathi Sea Country.
Raine Island is the planet’s largest remaining nesting site for internationally endangered green turtles, and around 90% of the Great Barrier Reef’s entire northern green turtle population originates from the Raine Island National Park. Raine Island is also home to some very rare seabirds and an iconic stone beacon landmark built in 1844, now listed on the Queensland Heritage Register due to its cultural significance.
